The Ontario government’s plan for the electric power sector could lead to blackouts in the next decade if coal power — needed to meet peak power needs — is replaced by unproven conservation programs and renewable energy technologies that cannot be dispatched. Why is the government risking the economy and the welfare of Ontarians? To satisfy two ideologies, one involving nuclear power, the other climate change.
